CONFESSIONS
WRITTEN
BY JOY EKPO
Time
Flies And as we make our confessions, Clips of the old man flashes the memory
in a nano. And I suddenly could remember Those days You were shamed and mocked.
Still recounting the times I drove off to my destination and the pride and
confidence soaring all high in my delusion.
When
my boast in riches found solidity in vain assurance, I was taking back the very
life I gave to you in abundance. And now, here I am A reformed betrayer. Back
to that bleeding wooden frame Boasting in the finished work extended to my soul.
For redemption welcomed me to righteousness.
So
here I lay my future down. Not in my strength but in Yours. I find all my
pride; For You are all I need and that need is now. So we cry nearer Landry our
spirit from the stains of unholiness and chizzle our minds with the rod of
godliness. We cry nearer Change our records and purify the folders of our heart.
As
we draw closer to Your bleeding side, Nearer Let us stay in this place and
remain here. And let seeking Your face become our daily bread.
